We are a 501(c)3 ministry dedicated to eliminating substandard housing in Gordon County. With the help of hundreds of volunteers and donors, we are able to build more affordable, attractive homes for low-income families. Our partner families are selected based on their need, ability to repay a no-interest mortgage, and willingness to partner with Habitat. They invest hundreds of hours of labor—sweat equity—into building their own homes and the homes of others. Because the houses are built with volunteer labor and some donated materials, mortgage payments are very affordable for our partner families. Their mortgage payments provide the funds to build even more houses in our community.
To date, we've built and refurbished sixteen homes in our community.
