Seeking to put God’s love into action, Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities and hope in Gordon County, Georgia.
A world where all people have a decent place to live.
MORE ABOUT US
We are a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian-based housing ministry that builds affordable, structurally sound homes for low income families in our community. Our work benefits the residents of Gordon County.
Our partner families are selected based on their need, ability to repay a no-interest mortgage, and willingness to partner with Habitat. They invest hundreds of hours of labor—sweat equity—into building their own homes and the homes of others. Because the houses are built with volunteer labor and some donated materials, mortgage payments are very affordable for our partner familes. Their mortgage payments provide the funds to build even more houses in our community.
We are currently preparing to build a home in Gordon County for the Cudd family. It will be our thirteenth Habitat home build. In 2014, we completed our twelfth Habitat home for the Trammell family at 189 Lake Crest Circle in West Lake Village. In 2011, we opened a ReStore at 809 Oothcalooga Street (next to the Yellow Jacket).
Habitat for Humanity International and its affiliated organizations will not proselytize, nor will Habitat work with entities or individuals who insist on proselytizing as part of their work with Habitat. This means that Habitat will not offer assistance on the expressed or implied condition that people must adhere to or convert to a particular faith or listen and respond to messaging designed to induce conversion to a particular faith.
